Norwegian Psychological Association staff visit APA headquarters

Staff from both associations discussed communication strategies, ideas for future collaborative projects and mutual goals.

Anderson, PhD, Gøril Wiker and Per HalvorsenDuring their two-day “field trip” in mid-March, Gøril Wiker, NPA chief communications officer, and Per Halvorsen, NPA director of Web operations, met with APA staff to  learn about APA's Public and Member Communications programs and to share information about Norway and the NPA.

Coordinated by APA’s Office of International Affairs, the meetings included APA staff from the Monitor on Psychology and gradPSYCH magazines, Public Affairs, Government Relations and the Web Strategy and Content Office. The delegation also met with APA staff regarding public education, telepsychology, science communications and design services.

The NPS is one of nine international partners with which APA has signed a memorandum of understanding. Each memorandum articulates the associations' mutual goals and outlines an agreement to communicate regularly and consider developing future projects and collaborative opportunities.
