The Anatomy of Psychotherapy: Viewer's Guide to the APA Psychotherapy Videotape Series
For individuals in the U.S. & U.S. territories
The Viewer's Guide includes twelve chapters that correspond to the twelve videotapes in the series. Each chapter offers a synopsis of the clinical approach, client background and precipitation events outline, process notes from initial sessions, stimulus questions about the videotaped session, therapist's reflections on the demonstration, autobiographical sketch of the psychotherapist, and a directory of sources for further readings.
The Anatomy of Psychotherapy offers a critical analysis of the psychotherapy systems and techniques presented in the video series. The guide prompts the viewer to consider the strengths of a particular approach while offering a bibliography of additional reading—including empirical research articles. Used with the videos, the guide motivates the viewer to speculate about the types of patients, disorders, and circumstances that might occur during psychotherapy; along with alternative ways of responding and/or interacting with patients.
This softcover edition is a re-release of the 1995 spiral-bound edition.
