WPO publications — what's new?

Print versions of the “Intimate partner Partner violence Violence” brochure and the “Sexualization of girls Girls” tip card (Spanish version) are available.

Intimate Partner Violence (PDF, 330KB) is a consumer-friendly brochure highlighting the mental health consequences of intimate partner violence including information on prevalence, screening/recognizing the signs and local and national resources. The print version of the brochure includes a tear-away card containing safety planning information. The online version of the brochure includes a "quick escape" feature, which allows users to exit to an unrated website (e.g., Google).

In June 2013, Graphic Design USA presented the American Psychological Association with an American In-house Design Award for the Intimate Partner Violence brochure, which is posted on the APA website.

Sexualization of Girls – Tip Card (Spanish version): The Women's Program Office worked with AXIOS-Misión Mujer A.C., a Mexico-based adolescent support nonprofit organization, to create a Spanish-language version of the Girls Tip Card, Lo Que Las Niñas y Jóvenes Sí Pueden Hacer. The postcard is a consumer education and empowerment resource tool for adolescent girls to use to combat sexualized images in the media and is available online. Hard copies are available from the APA Women's Program Office or by calling the office at (202) 336-6044.
