Rehabilitation Psychology's 15th Annual Conference
Rehabilitation Psychology’s 15th Annual Conference is coming soon. The American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology and American Psychological Association Division of Rehabilitation of Psychology, Division 22 will present “Expanding the Boundaries of Rehabilitation Psychology” to be held Feb. 21-24, 2013 at the Jacksonville, Fla. Omni Hotel. The preconference held on Feb. 21st, “Using Technology to Enhance Clinical Practice: What Rehabilitation Psychologists Need to Know,” will include a review a variety of technology-based products (apps, virtual reality, telehealth) as well as a panel presentation to discuss barriers to adopting this technology. The conference will cover a wide range of topics relative to psychologists who work with individuals with disabilities. The Diller Award and Lecture will be given by James Malec, PhD entitled “Post-hospital Brain Injury Rehabilitation: Types of Programs and their Effectiveness.” The Rosenthal Lecture will be given by Charles Bombardier, PhD entitled “Nervous Breakdown: Depression in Neurological Conditions,” and the Wright-Dembo Lecture will be given by Paul Kennedy, DPhil, entitled “Beyond Adversity: A Journey of a Scientist Practitioner.” For more information regarding registration and conference brochure, visit the webpage.
