World AIDS Day

In support of this observance, APA is displaying a portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt to honor the millions of people who have died from HIV/AIDS

Established by the World Health Organization in 1988, World AIDS Day is observed on Dec. 1 each year to reflect on the millions who have died from HIV/AIDS. The theme between 2011 and 2015 is “Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Discrimination, Zero AIDS Related Deaths.” This year, as in recent years, APA is marking World AIDS Day by displaying a portion of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in the lobby at the APA headquarters building. Information on APA’s long-term involvement in and commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS is available on the Office on AIDS website.
