APA's PsycNET platform supports SFX and other OpenURL-based linking technologies. PsycINFO functions as a "source." To link from PsycINFO to your SFX server, simply specify the address for your SFX/OpenURL server in the Librarians' Reference Desk.
PsycINFO search results will then display an icon linking to your OpenURL server for each item in the hit list.
PsycARTICLES functions as a "target." Linking from a third-party database to PsycARTICLES is possible. If that database provider determines that a record represents a PsycARTICLES document, it could formulate the URL to link to PsycARTICLES. In this case, it should use the following URL format:
http://content.apa.org/journals/[issn]/[volume]/[issue]/[firstpage]
e.g., http://content.apa.org/journals/0003-066X/59/5/325
Any of the following will work:
http://content.apa.org/journals/(issn)
http://content.apa.org/journals/(issn)/(vol)
http://content.apa.org/journals/(issn)/(vol)/(iss)
http://content.apa.org/journals/(issn)/(vol)/(iss)/(page)
For example,
http://content.apa.org/journals/0022-3514
http://content.apa.org/journals/0022-3514/86
http://content.apa.org/journals/0022-3514/86/6
http://content.apa.org/journals/0022-3514/86/6/796
Also note that if you are coming through a proxy server, the base URL will need to be "proxies.apa.org" instead of "content.apa.org."
