Degree In Sight

Psychology doctoral and master's programs differ considerably in the amount of funding students can get to help them get through. Here are some statistics:

Students who receive any program-awarded funding:

  • 43 percent of students in master's programs.

  • 80 percent to 100 percent of students in PhD programs.

  • 14 percent to 40 percent of students in PsyD programs.

Students who receive full funding (tuition waiver plus a stipend):

  • Less than 10 percent of students in master's programs.

  • 1 percent to 10 percent of students in PsyD programs.

  • 60 percent to 90 percent of students in PhD programs.
