Calling all scientists: APA and FABBS to organize District Science Lobby Week

Sept. 21 webinar will train psychological scientists to advocate for federal investments in research
APA is joining forces with the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (FABBS) to provide advocacy training for scientists and prepare them to meet with their own members of Congress. The visits, intended to highlight why federal investments in our sciences are important for individuals, society and the nation, will be conducted from Oct. 9-12, 2012, when members of Congress are at home in their districts prior to the November elections. To participate, scientists should register for the APA-FABBS Advocacy Training Webinar scheduled for Sept. 21, 2012, from 3-4 p.m. Eastern time. For those unable to participate on Sept. 21, the training will be video archived and available for later viewing. Participants will receive an advocacy packet developed by APA and FABBS and will be responsible for scheduling their own visits. For questions, contact Karen Studwell.
