Board of Convention Affairs Annual Report 2011

The Board of Convention Affairs held two meetings in 2011 – March 25-27, 2011, and November 4-6, 2011. Initial planning for the 2012 plenary sessions at the annual convention was implemented by the Central Programming Working Group, which met with the Board of Convention Affairs in November.

During the year, the Board updated the Call for Programs by adding terms related to industrial and organizational psychology and to consulting psychology. It also developed criteria for “late-breaking” poster presentations, a new format for the convention.

BCA action on convention policy during 2011 is noted below:

  • Agreed to implement the Memorandum of Understanding that APA has signed with various national psychology associations as it pertains to the convention. Convention registration fee waivers for up to two association leaders will be provided to each national psychology association that has signed the MOU with APA.
